1) AB welcomed the participants and introduced the agenda as proposed by the secretariat, no changes were made

2) Updates on CORE ICCs:

FRA: Status: Both AURA districts (1710, 1780) are active in the ICC as well as on the Board. There was a first meeting oft he French section with 10 members fromD1710 and 5 members from D1780. Finances: The membership fee is 50 EUR per person for Rotarians, 25 EUR for Rotaractors, 200 EUR for clubs and 100 EUR for newly interested clubs. In addition the section in the future hopes for some district support. Activities: It is mandatory that each member be active in at least one committee (finances, recruitment, action follow-up, new activities, communication)

GER:  Status:  The Board is complete, both districts are fully committed with a total of more than 120 clubs and 7,000 Rotarians. Finances: both districts have committed 1,500 EUR each from their membership fees as they do for any ICC for which they are responsible according to German Rotary practices. Activities need to be strengthened from the membership base

ITA: Status: Both northern LOM districts (2041, 2042) are active in the ICC and the Board, a total of three clubs and 12 individual members; more members are already in the pipeline. Finances: Each club pays a membership fee of 250 EUR, each individual member of 25 EUR. Activities are currently geared towards enlarging the membership base.

3) Review of projects and ToDo’s after Archamps:

NGSE: Steve Starenisic has now identified three models to use for this project

TODO KGS: a one-liner description for these leads to secretaries to identify suited contact persons for starting one of these activities.

RES: The next RES to take place in Italy in October. Although a committee is working on this, there is no date nor location fixed yet. The missing contact persons from the German side are Gerhard Simon for D1830 and Christian Falkenstein for D1930

TODO KGS and JH: Verify the German contact persons

TNSP: There are now two TNSP active, which are – although based on the same idea – different in details: a) Heilbronn (now with a new school) – Sarnico – Bourg en Bresse (financed by a GG) and b) Ludwigsburg – Bergamo – Haguenau (has applied for a district grant). The involvement of clubs outside oft he CORE area shall be discussed in general at the Strategy Meeting in Villa Vigoni in April, also experiences and useful details shall be better communicated for new such projects.

RCE (Rotary Connects Europe, before known as EU-Alphabetization):

A Powerpoint presentation to be shown in our clubs is in preparation, it should be ready for the meeting at Villa Vigoni, next step shall be a test in some representative clubs.

TODO ALL: Each district should name a representative for RCE, still open for 1830 and 1930

4)    Issues for the Strategy Meeting at Villa Vigoni

The following items were identified for the agenda at the Villa Vigoni meeting April 15-17:

  • Status of projects
  • How to involve and integrate Rotaract into CORE
  • Multiplication / Rollout of projects within CORE and beyond
  • Involvement of Non-COIRE-area Clubs and Districts for this behalf
  • Avoiding of competition to / with traditional ICCs D-F, F-I., and I-D
  • Logo for CORE
  • How to do more for Europe, not only for young people (e. g. European Action Day for Rotarians in CORE, …)

Any additional items should be given to the secretaries by March 8 who will then prepare an agenda.

Jörg Hochhausen informed that he can only make himself available on Thursday after       lunch and asked to structure the agenda in a way that the more strategic issues are only      dealt with after his arrival.

5)    Other Business

The preparation for the Conference in Kehl October 9-11 are well under way in District 1930. Neither this conference nor the planned RES in October are in conflict with the two Rotary Institutes in Palanga (Sep. 3-6) or Amsterdam (Sep. 10-13)

The Conference 2027 shall be organized in Italy. A date should be fixed at Villa Vigoni.

At Villa Vigoni there will be a pre-meeting with the Italian Prof. Dastoli, a very prominent person in Italy and involved in the board of Villa Vigoni. He is interested in the work of CORE.

TODO ALL: With the registration to the Strategy Meeting please indicate whether you can be around already for the 5 pm meeting with Prof. Dastoli
